Pleasant was destroyed in the February 2011 earthquake. The new, much larger premises have provided the opportunity to offer a wide range of pianos in a spacious setting which offers customers the opportunity to hear and compare the different instruments without distraction. In the attached workshop, piano actions are prepared to a high standard of touch and responsiveness. The shop is open from Thursday to Saturday 10 - 6 pm , but it pays to call Wytze first (on 021 373744) to make an appointment. Wytze Hoekstra | Piano Tuner & Technician Wytze (pron. "Veetsa") was born in the Netherlands where he did his training at the Opleiding voor Piano Techniek under Herman Wolleswinkel, chief
technician of the Concertgebouw Orkest.
In 1980 Wytze emigrated to New Zealand where he has lived and worked in Christchurch for the past 31 years.He is a passionate pianist and is a regular performer on the Christchurch music scene, mostly with his two ensembles: the Hoekstra|Kime|Hobson Trio and the Tango La Luna sextet. |
